Seriously, what's there worth holding on to? Carson? The improvement to the defense?

Why wouldn't people be excited about the return of Carson Palmer? he is one of the top ten qb's in the game. let me guess, you were expected Ryan Fitzpatrick to lead the Bengals back to glory? Say it ain't so. Please tell me you are just a jealous Red's fan who cant stand Cincinnati being a football town? You are just pulling my leg right?

WTF

REALLY??? When you're a Bengals fan, HOPE IS ALL YOU EVER HAVE!!!

Seriously, there is reason to be excited about this year. IF HEALTHY: All relative players of the 12th ranked defense returning, solid depth on the d-line (Tank was an excellent addtion), quality D ends and backers, corners coming into their own and solid safeties... not to mention the 2nd yr in Zimmer's system.

Let's face it, the offense has never really been a concern (except a pitifull 08 season), but with Carson's return and some solid addtions/resignings (Coles, Benson) and the loss (addtion) of Stacey Andrews... there's reason for optimism. (B.T.W., THANK GOD ANDREW'S IS GONE!!!!!!!! His revolving door technique will be well served in Philli, Donovan better hope he still has the wheels to outrun whatever d-end he's got chasing him down...)

With some solid picks in the upcoming draft, the Bengals are DEFINATELY looking up. Get rid of Chad (man, I hate to admit it... he's a cancer) and let the Caldwell and Simpson do what you drafted them to do. Coles is a ball player and can be very beneficial to their development.

This Bengals will NEVER win a Super Bowl. At least until Mike Brown croaks. And why?

Because nothing ever changes!! Brown doesn't care about the reputation of the team, which is why quality players stay away from the organization and he continues to hire ex-criminals. Yes, I said it, and I know a lot of people hate hearing that, but it's the truth!

Brown doesn't want to pay for quality players either. Besides Chad Johnson, TJ, and Carson, who has Mike Brown paid for in the last 5-7 years? Justin Smith? Give me a break.

Ex-criminals on the Bengals: Chris Henry, Laverneus Coles (shoplifting, sulking, battery), Cedric Benson, Tank Johnson (gun charges)

It doesn't matter when, why, or how they committed crimes. It's an IMAGE problem. How many other teams have an image problem because of this? How many other teams in the NFL have to sit and be berated, joked, and laughed upon by other media outlets across the nation for their personnel decisions?

Besides...what does Mike Brown care about more than anything? Money. It's that simple. Until the people quit buying season tickets and filling the seats, Brown doesn't give a crap how the team performs. This team has had 1 winning season in the last 18 years. It's not going to get any better.

Keep hope for Reds baseball, Musketeers basketball, and Bearcats football. That's your best bet of satisfaction.

Normally the consummate optimist, I regret to type that I think Carson's career is almost, if not already done. Don't get me wrong, I hope he makes me eat these words by having a blow up season, but the guy has had two major injuries to two important parts of a quarterback, the lead leg and the throwing arm. Carson can say he feels as healthy as he wants, but how healthy is his head? Can he step-up in a pocket with any confidence when he's standing behind essentially the same line that let his arm get jacked up last season?

I hope I'm wrong, but I really don't think I'm too far off...
